Track of the week: Bad News Club - 'Absent'

The cold, snowy weather makes us want to listen to soothing folk tunes to warm us up, so this week's track of the week is just that. Absent is the B-side to Bad News Club's recent single The Painter (listen to that one here), which he's launching with a show at Servant Jazz Quarters tonight. The new tune is just beautiful - check it out below.

It's been out for just over a week now, and we're really enjoying the debut album Great Big Blue from Geowulf. They're a beach pop duo comprising of Star Kendrick and Toma Banjanin (of Tempesst, who we also love) who have been steadily releasing a selection of brilliant singles, like the tune Drink Too Much which you can check out below, for a year and a half now. The record is a beautiful collection of these tracks and more! They're launching the record with a show at London's The Lexington, with the incredibly talented Magique in support, our gig of the week top tip - grab your tickets here.

Track of the week: Flatlands - 'Reset'

Our track of the week is once again from a really exciting Oxford band, the lovely Flatlands chaps. We've worked with them on a couple of shows in Oxford and London and loved their set at our Tap Social Movement all-dayer in their hometown of Oxford over Summer. Really enjoying this new tune! Reset is taken from their upcoming EP which they're launching with a show at hometown venue The Cellar on Saturday 14th April - it'll be a good one! Track of the week: Little Brother Eli - 'Tooth'

New music from Oxford's Little Brother Eli is always a cause for celebration, and their brand new single Tooth has earned them our track of the week nod. Track of the week: Me and The Moon - 'It's Alright'

Our faves Me and The Moon have just dropped new single It's Alright which we're loving! The tune was premiered by Too Many Blogs, who write of the track that it is a "playful ode to Fleetwood Mac with a deeply personal twist [...] a melancholic bop that has all the infectious vocal melodies and dreamy guitar chords you could ever want." They're touring the UK across February and March to support the release of the single, including back-to-back hometown shows in Guildford for us. The show on the 28th has long been sold out, but there are a handful of tickets left for the 27th here.

Gig of the week: BBC Introducing Uprising at O2 Academy Oxford (9th Feb)

Our gig of the week this weeks takes us to Oxford, where a couple of us recently took in the Low Island & friends show with BE GOOD and Magique in support! It'll take quite a bit to top that gig for a while, but here's one which should come pretty close... the latest BBC Introducing night at O2 Academy Oxford. Making up the line-up are locals Flatlands, Cassels, Easter Island Statues and Cherokii - sure to be a great evening!
