If you were a fan of folk-rockers Dry The River and have had a DtR shaped hole in your life since their break-up a couple of years back, worry no more. Our track of the week comes courtesy of the band's frontman Peter, going under the name PD Liddle. Bringing his stunning vocals back to us, he's releasing his debut solo record this Friday through Xtra Mile Recordings. Following singles You Shouldn't Have Called and Uncanny Valley, he's released Mary before the record's release in a couple of days.

WOMAD Special - Eight questions with Seramic
Not long to go until this year's WOMAD Festival! We're excited to announce that the third of the artists we've handpicked for the line-up are Tigmus favourites Low Island, who'll be joining MarthaGunn and Seramic to bring a whole lot of joy to the line-up. All three have delivered some of the best live sets we've seen over the past few years so if you're heading to the festival you are in for a huge treat - watch out for scheduling information to find out which days and stages each of our artists are playing on!

Seramic is me, it’s also a very collaborative project so I have my live band who I love playing with and there are two producers who I work with who contribute to the sound massively too.
2. How would you describe your sound to someone who hasn’t listened yet? We’d say that they’re in for quite the treat and to head straight for the I Got You EP.
My music draws from lots of different influences, I guess to simplify it’s kind of a combination of soul/r&b/gospel, it’s a fun show to see.
3. Which artists, past and present, influence that unique Seramic sound?
I am very influenced by Prince and Sly and the Family Stone but I love people like Kendrick Lamar, Anderson Paak and Outkast.
4. Who else is in your headphones at the minute?
I like the Kanye produced record by Teyana Taylor and the Daniel Caesar record a lot.
5. You’ve been away from the live spotlight for a few months - what’s been happening in the world of Seramic, and when do we get to hear some new music?
We have our new single Strange Magic out right now so check it out, I also made a video for it. I have been working on lots of music, we will be releasing loads of singles this year which is exciting.
6. Will you be bringing new tracks to WOMAD? What else can we expect from the show?
We will be playing some new songs, we are actually going to do something really stripped down for that show so it should be quite special and different.
7. The few Seramic sets I’ve caught over the last couple of years have been some of the best live music performances I’ve been lucky enough to witness. The full band shows are infectiously energetic and it’s clear that you’re completely at home on the stage. In particular, a stripped back secret set in a tiny wine bar at Bushstock Festival last year was my festival highlight and a total joy to watch. How do you feel about getting back to performing live?
I love performing live more than anything, it’s where I feel totally at home so I’m just really excited to be doing that as much as possible when I get the chance.
8. Finally, the line-up (http://womad.co.uk/line-up/) for WOMAD is looking pretty strong already! Who else should people be catching? For us, Django Django, Too Many Zooz and your Communion Records pals MarthaGunn are a must!

Gig of the week: Benedict Benjamin at Paper Dress Vintage (12th July)
After catching him at a couple of Sofar Sounds shows in Oxford over the last few years, we're big fans of Benedict Benjamin and his beautiful folky tunes. He's playing a full band show at Paper Dress Vintage this Thursday (12th) and (you guessed it) it's our gig of the week! Check out a performance of Thin Skin from his wonderful debut album Night Songs to get a taste of his music - he'll likely be premiering some new material at this show! Track of the week: Catgod - 'Let Go'
Friends of Tigmus, Catgod, shared their latest EP online last week. Heartbeat in My Hand is a sublime collection of tracks - they're a band who aren't shy of experimenting with new sounds in order to find where they want to place themselves musically. Gig of the week: Little Brother Eli at The Monarch (4th July)
Our gig of the week this week features two long time Tigmus favourites, both to work with on shows and to catch live. Little Brother Eli play the latest of their Eli Nights shows at The Monarch in Camden this Thursday (4th July) alongside Hazey Jane, who recently released their Lifeboat EP. Track of the week: Boy Azooga - 'Jerry'
Music and dogs is always a pretty winning combination for us at Tigmus, and our track of the week feature today is for Jerry from the debut Boy Azooga record 1, 2, Kung Fu! We're really digging the record (listen to it on Spotify here), and the video for this track features a visit to Cardiff Dog's Home, so it's certainly worth a watch. If you like what you're hearing the band are playing at London's Scala on the 17th October (tickets for that here) and are also on the line-up for Oxford's Cowley Road festival Ritual Union.

Gig of the week: Strong Asian Mothers at Thousand Island (28th June)
When our faves Strong Asian Mothers play in London there's little other choice for our gig of the week top tip! They're playing the second collaborative Close Up and Tmrw show at Thousand Island this Thursday (28th) with support from Albert Gold and Lauran Hibberd. Sure to be premiering some new material, it's always a fun show when these guys are involved! Check out their recent single below and grab a ticket here.
